What is the main difference between hot-rolled steel pipe and cold-rolled steel pipe

1. The cold-rolled steel pipe allows local buckling of the section so that the bearing capacity of the bar after buckling can be fully utilized; while the hot-rolled steel pipe does not allow local buckling of the section.

2. The reasons for the residual stress of hot-rolled steel pipes and cold-rolled steel pipes are different, so the distribution on the cross-section is also very different. The distribution of residual stress on the section of cold-formed thin-walled steel is curved, while the distribution of residual stress on the section of hot-rolled steel pipe or welded steel pipe is film-type.

3. The free torsional stiffness of hot-rolled steel pipes is higher than that of cold-rolled steel pipes, so the torsional performance of hot-rolled steel pipes is better than that of cold-rolled steel pipes.
